A couple, in  the Lincoln Square area, needs to hire an experienced and highly discreet Full-Time, Live-In Housekeeper/Cook. The residence is occupied intermittently throughout the year, so the ideal candidate must be comfortable working independently and taking ownership of the home during quieter periods, while remaining flexible, hands-on, and service-oriented when the family or guests are in residence. Responsibilities include: general housekeeping, laundry, ironing, and care of clothing and linens, wardrobe management; packing and unpacking, preparing bedrooms, bathrooms, and living areas ahead of arrivals,  maintaining household supplies; grocery and household shopping, simple, high-quality meal preparation, table setting and service; guest service and identifying and reporting maintenance issues or other matters requiring attention. This is a 40-hour-per-week position, with flexibility in how hours are distributed when the residence is unoccupied. When the family or guests are in residence, greater flexibility will be required and hours may be adjusted to accommodate the needs of the household, with advance notice provided whenever possible. The successful candidate will have prior experience in a high-end private household, excellent housekeeping, laundry, ironing, and wardrobe-management skills, strong organizational abilities, impeccable attention to detail and the ability to work proactively and independently without constant direction. The family is also open to a hybrid role and will hire someone live-out when the family is not in residence and live-in when the family is in residence. Responsibilities include: detailed housekeeping, laundry and organized putting away of clothing and linens, managing dry cleaning, unboxing and organizing daily mail, breaking down boxes, retrieving mail, occasional errands and returns, assisting with groceries, maintaining household organization, and cleaning patio/outdoor areas. The family currently employees a full time nanny, backup babysitters, and a seasonal meal-prep chef who handles kitchen cleaning. The family has a traveling house manager who provides support when the family is away and during larger summer projects, and additional help can be brought in for deep cleans and events. A artistic couple, in Chelsea, needs to hire an experienced and personable part-time Housekeeper to assist with the ongoing upkeep and organization of their home. Responsibilities include: general household upkeep and cleaning, maintaining daily organization and tidiness throughout the residence, family laundry and linens, and keeping household items and supplies organized. The Housekeeper will also assist with very light kitchen prep, such as washing and chopping fruits and vegetables and helping to keep the refrigerator organized and stocked.. Additional duties may include occasional household errands and assisting with the care of the family’s cat. This is a relatively informal household and the principals are looking for someone who is highly capable and detail-oriented while also being friendly and approachable.
