A family, in Rhinebeck, NY, needs to hire highly experienced Domestic Couple. Responsibilities include: detailed housekeeping and daily maintenance, laundry and ironing (sheet etc.), polishing silver, taking care of house plants, walking and feeding the dog, shopping for needed supplies, food, and household goods, driving people to and from the train station and possibly to other destinations in the neighborhood, putting correctly sorted garbage out for collection, collecting and distributing mail, answering the door and receiving packages, serving at table and after meal clean-up. The couple should be able to make three meals a day – excellent cooking skills are a must. Other responsibilities will be: shoveling the front steps and the path leading to the driveway, checking every day for leaks, etc. by walking through the house, and to report any problems they find. Must work well with a property manager who can help with booking repair services and major maintenance. There is a housekeeper who will come two days a week to assist with heavy cleaning or with laundry. Schedule: Thursday-Monday, 50-60 hours. Must work during the holidays if needed. The family is composed of 2 adults and 2 school aged children and the chef will also need to prepare enough food to include a couple other domestic staff employees in the home. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Strictly adhering to preferences and dietary restrictions of the family, weekly menu planning with an emphasis on providing a variety of dishes, incorporating fresh and healthy ingredients in all meals, (a background in nutrition, through certification, experience, or both, is strongly preferred), weekend menus to be prepared each Friday, handling all aspects of grocery shopping and supply procurement, managing the grocery inventory, and upholding the highest sanitary and cleanliness standard for the kitchen. All candidates must have a valid driver license, a strong command of English and 3+ years’ experience as a Private Chef. Applicants with a Culinary Arts degree from accredited school are strongly preferred. The schedule is Monday – Friday, approximately 40 hours per week but with flexibility to work additional hours on an as-needed basis. During the fall, winter and spring, it is anticipated that the Personal Chef will report to the family’s residences in New York, NY or Greenwich, CT approximately five (5) days a week. During the summer season, between May and September, it is anticipated that the Personal Chef will travel with the family to Southampton as needed. The ideal candidate is developmentally knowledgeable and experienced with caring for multiple children, including infants. the family already employs another nanny who will primarily focus on the newborn during the day, this role will focus on the older children, providing extra support to the family and contributing to a collaborative and harmonious household. Responsibilities include: planning and preparing healthy meals for the children, running occasional errands, and coordinating activities and playdates – especially with nearby relatives who have similarly aged children. The Nanny should also be comfortable helping with packing, unpacking, and maintaining calm routines during frequent domestic and international travel. Formal training in infant care and child development is strongly preferred. The nanny should enjoy being outdoors and be comfortable with swimming, hiking and cycling The role also includes occasional supervision of extended family members children, so comfort juggling a larger group is essential. The typical schedule is Monday-Friday or Tuesday-Saturday, generally from 7:00 AM-10:00 AM and 1:00 PM-8:00 PM, with flexibility to stay later or assist on weekends as needed.
