Saturday is the first day of October, officially kicking off the countdown to Halloween. Below are a few Halloween and Autumn events for your family to enjoy:

Halloween Harvest at Luna Park: Spooktacular Fun is in full swing at Luna Park from now until October 30th. Stop by Coney Island to partake in various activities such as Kooky Spooky Karaoke, Halloween themed crafts with Crafty Kids, and fun contests at the Monster Mash stage. Before you leave, make sure to stop by and visit Jack, the giant pumpkin, and guess his weight for a chance to win prizes.

Rock and Roll at Brooklyn Bowl: The Rock and Roll Playhouse workshops are 60-minute workshops that focus on specific eras and genres of music. Held at Brooklyn Bowl, these interactive and educational programs allow children the opportunity to explore live music, movement, and widen their imaginations.

Boo at the Zoo: Held at the Bronx Zoo, Boo at the Zoo returns with bigger and better attractions. Children can wear their best creative costumes and walk in the parade with the zoo’s costumed characters, including bats and bugs. Children can also safely trick or treat, engage in creepy crafts, where they can create a magnet to take home, and participate in magic and music programs.

Pumpkin Picking Farms: There are a number of pumpkin picking farms opening across the Tri-state area this weekend. Families can stop by Decker Farm in Staten Island to take a farmhouse tour, join a hayride, or take home a pumpkin! The Fall Festival is also ongoing at the Harvest Moon Farm and Orchard in Westchester County, where families can go apple picking, visit the pumpkin patch, enjoy a pony ride, and participate in interactive games and activities.

Family Art Project: Be a Bee: As part of its annual Honey Weekend, Wave Hill is offering a variety of buzz-worthy activities. Some of these include candle-making, honey-extraction demonstrations, and the “Be a Bee” Family Art Project. As part of the “Be a Bee” project, children can dress up as bees, participate in a bee parade, and do a bee dance in a cardboard hive.

Warwick Apple Fest: The annual Warwick Apple Fest is held this Sunday, October 2nd, 2016. The festival features over 200 vendors offering a variety of delicious food. The festival will also have a children’s carnival, pony rides, and arts and crafts. Think your apple pie has what it takes to win the contest? Submit yours to find out!
