Whatever your child’s age is, we’ve got you covered with our family-friendly activities for the upcoming weekend:

The New Jersey Wild Outdoor Expo celebrates the outdoors by providing education, information and hands-on opportunities to learn outdoor skills and activities. Please see their calendar here for a comprehensive list of activities and programs.

Brooklyn Book Festival is a week-long festival beginning on Monday, September 12th, 2016 and culminating in a literary celebration for Families and Children on Saturday, September 17th. Stop by Brooklyn Bridge Park to hear R.L. Stine read from his newest book entitled Young Scrooge: A Very Scary Christmas Story followed by a book signing. Other weekly events during the festival include a reading of Grimm’s Fairytales and a discussion panel of Writing and Motherhood and Writing on Motherhood. Please visit Brooklyn Book Festival for more information.

ROC Race is held at Aviator Sports and Events Center, New York’s largest sports and events venue. Gotta Catch ‘Em Cupcakes is one of the many events held at TasteBuds Kitchen, located in New York City. The one-hour event will allow children (and caregivers!) to learn how to make their own cupcakes from scratch. If your family is unable to make it to this event, TasteBuds has many more upcoming events that take place on a monthly basis such as how to make your own handmade pasta, parfaits, and their upcoming Halloween Haunted House Workshop. Advance reservations are required.

Take advantage of the nice weather this upcoming weekend by journeying through Central Park. Activities include a tour through the Ramble, a guided stroll through the Conservatory Garden, or Storytime at the Statue of Hans Christian Andersen. Please check their website here to inquire about advance registration for certain programs.
