A family of four, in Lower Manhattan, needs to hire an experienced Cook/Household/Childcare Assistant who will become a long-term member of their household. The primary responsibility is preparing healthy, family-style meals, including planning weekly menus, grocery shopping (if needed), and preparing dinners that are both nutritious and child-friendly. Additional responsibilities include assisting with the overall upkeep and organization of the home by supporting the family’s current housekeeper, including maintaining tidy common areas, helping keep children’s spaces organized, putting away laundry as needed, unloading the dishwasher, and assisting with other light household tasks to help the home run efficiently. Childcare responsibilities are secondary and include assisting with school pick-up, supervising the children after school, engaging them in age-appropriate activities, and providing an extra set of hands for the stay-at-home parent when needed. This is a wonderful opportunity for a kind, adaptable professional who enjoys cooking for families and can truly help a busy family’s home run smoothly. The family will guarantee 40 hours per week and is open to one of two possible schedules. Their original ideal schedule is three full weekdays, approximately 7:00 AM–7:00 PM, between Tuesday and Friday, with some afternoon hours on the fourth weekday, as well as on Sundays; however, they are flexible for the right candidate should applicants prefer not to work weekends. Alternatively, the family is open to the following Monday–Friday schedule: Monday 2:00–6:00 PM, Tuesday 2:00–6:00 PM, Wednesday 7:00 AM–6:00 PM, Thursday 7:00 AM–6:00 PM, and Friday 7:00 AM–5:00 PM.
